The Thai Lunar Calendar (Thai: ปฏิทินจันทรคติ Pa ti thin Chan tha ra kha ti) (literally, Against-the-Sun Moon-Ways). The calendar is used for setting lunar-regulated holy days. In Thailand, lunar regulated holy days are usually strictly observed. Here, at the temple in Melbourne, holy days and special events are sometimes observed on a Saturday or Sunday and dates are coordinated as to not to conflict with events and or celebrations at the other three Thai temples in Central Florida-- Tampa ~ Wat Mongkolratanaram of Florida (Wat Tampa) ~ http://www.wattampainenglish.com/ West Palm Beach ~ Wat Mahadhatujetiyaram Temple ~ http://mahathat.org/en/ |
